FCC Seeks Judgment to End Lawyer Racial Bias Trial

Edward Moreno (Sept. 27, 2021, 3:49 p.m. EDT) – The Federal Communications Commission wants to end a seven-year racial bias lawsuit after a DC federal court decision to declare the trial quashed in a case that had been filed against the agency by a black legal adviser who said the agency had passed her off for promotion because of her race.

In a motion for judgment filed Friday, the FCC said Linda Pintro lacked evidence to support her claims that being ignored for the role of interim chief in the strategic analysis and negotiation division of the agency has hindered her career advancement or been denied “enhanced supervisory responsibilities.”
